Brandy Wreath is a native Oklahoman, born to a large family of land-run ranchers and farmers, small town entrepreneurs, church leaders, and public servants. He grew up in Moore, Oklahoma, witnessing and learning from a young age the value of family connection, hard work, community involvement, and intense personal focus. In 1998, he graduated magna cum laude from Mid-America University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Ethics.
During and after college, Mr. Wreath worked in the banking industry. For nearly two decades he served and excelled in a variety of roles ranging from sales and service to management and testimonial duties. While there, he firmly established his path to public service and creative, dynamic corporate management.
A strong advocate for employee-centered leadership, Mr. Wreath places high value on transparency, particularly in fiduciary stewardship and clean operations. He has been known and loved throughout his career for aligning employees’ unique skills, backgrounds, and education with very specific organizational needs. His track record proves that this approach creates outcomes that equally benefit the employee, the organization, and all stakeholders. It is more than efficient; it is often magical. Understanding the impacts of managerial decisions on the daily lives of workers, and the impact of workers’ well-being on their work product, Mr. Wreath approaches decision-making with a strong sense of care and accountability.
Mr. Wreath joined the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC) in 2006. In the early years, he worked his way up quickly, soon serving as a senior auditor and expert witness in the Public Utility Division (PUD). There he contributed mightily to multiple public utility cases and made history in more than a few. As PUD’s Chief of Energy, he was appointed to the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners’ (NARUC) Subcommittee on Natural Gas and represented NARUC as an international delegate to India’s Petroleum and Natural Gas Resource Board. In 2012, he was named Director of the Public Utility Division, a job he loved and executed with widespread success until his appointment as Director of Administration in 2022.
As Director of Administration for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission, Mr. Wreath oversaw the agency’s day-to-day operations, including its four core divisions – oil and gas, public utilities, transportation, and the petroleum storage tank division. His responsibilities also included managing an annual budget of more than $100 million and advancing initiatives to modernize workplace culture across an organization of more than 575 employees that serves regulated industries and more than four million Oklahoma consumers.
Mr. Wreath cares deeply about Oklahoma. He remains an active participant in the legislative process and strongly believes that industry can, and should, balance profit with service, safety, and environmental protection.
Mr. Wreath is married with two adult daughters and a son in law. He and his wife operate a small hobby farm in Choctaw, and together they lead The Lazy W Family Outreach. Through this outreach, they visit hospitals to support young patients facing serious illnesses, and they participate in community events statewide to support physical, mental, and spiritual health. You might catch his hand-built Batmobile at a small-town parade or Touch-a-Truck event. He also enjoys restoring and showing classic cars, building and repairing fences, hosting events, and traveling.
